The monastic community at Ampleforth is delighted to announce the re-opening of the Abbey church for public worship. It is a joy to be able to open our doors to celebrate the central mysteries of our faith in the Eucharist.
Founded in 1802, Ampleforth Abbey is home to a community of more than 55 monks who seek God according to the Gospel and the Rule of St Benedict.
We welcome all visitors, whether you are simply seeking rest and peace in our Valley, or want to experience something of our life together with us. We invite you to browse our site to familiarise yourself with the works of Ampleforth, and to 'Come and See' (John 1:39) just what you might find. We look forward to seeing you soon.
