An Update from Rome

Brs Jospeh Benedict and Edmund

Brs Joseph Benedict and Edmund are coming to the end of their first year studying Theology in Rome as part of their monastic formation.

As they are living at Sant’Anselmo (an international Benedictine monastery) and are studying at the Angelicum (a Dominican University) each morning provides the opportunity for a half-hour walk across the historic city centre.

They say they have found the Italian food easier to digest than the language, though both are beautiful.

Being at the centre of the Church has enabled them to encounter its breadth, and this year has even presented them with the opportunity to pray with the Pope on Ash Wednesday.

We look forward to welcoming them back to the Abbey this summer where they plan to visit several monasteries along the way.
