National Retreat Week 2023

National Retreat Week celebrates the power of prayer and reflection.

We're so busy juggling everyday life, that pausing, breathing, and connecting with God can often be overlooked.

Over the years, we've shared special memories with our retreat guests, as you can see in the below video. We hope each guest has left the Abbey feeling renewed and at peace.

Guided Retreats

There's still a few spaces left on our remaining Guided Retreats for this year. Whether you want to live like a monk for a week, pilgrimage to the holy sites of North Yorkshire, or learn about the wisdom of St Benedict, there's something for everyone to get involved in.

Group Retreats

From March 2024, we are able to offer newly refurbished group accommodation in Alban Roe House. With a mix of dormitory and en-suite rooms, we can accommodate groups of up to 60 comfortably.

We welcome a variety of groups on retreat, such as schools, university societies, parishes, spiritual organisations, and many more.

Self-led Retreats

On a self-led retreat, you are given the space and privacy to spend your time as you wish. With a private room, food, grounds to explore and an invitation to join the monks in prayer, you can design the retreat to suit your individual needs.
