From today until Sunday 13th August, the monastic community are on their annual retreat at the Abbey.
This week of retreat is an essential part of their spiritual lives, a time to stop, listen and reflect.
Each day the retreat leader, Bishop Paul Swarbrick of Lancaster, will lead the community in two periods of reflection. The rest of the time, the community will have time to read, pray and engage in necessary manual labour.
Please pray for the monks and note that the daily Office and Mass times will continue as normal, except for Sext, which will be at 12.00pm from Monday to Saturday.
