Fr Abbot's Homily for the Feast of St Benedict

Abbot Robert and Prior stand before the St Benedict statue

Today we celebrate the Feast of St Benedict and commemorate the translation of his relics during the 8th century. The feast in March marks the anniversary of his death and in the Benedictine world (rather than the universal Church) it was permitted to celebrate both

St Benedict was the author of the Rule, which is a set of guidelines for monastic conduct followed by Benedictine monks and nuns throughout the world, including ourselves.
