Housekeeping Team Leader Position **Immediate Start**

Salary: £11.08 per hour or £23,046 per Annum – Permanent Full Time

Working Days Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm – weekend availability required on occasions

We are a charitable organisation and have vacancy for a Full-time 40 hours per week permanent contract.

We are looking for a Housekeeping Team Leader to coordinate all our cleaning across the Monastery, offices, and the accommodation for hosting our retreat guests.

Main Duties and Responsibilities to include:

• A hands-on position where you are expected to not only manage the small team but also work alongside them to implement high standards of cleanliness and drive consistency across all the Monastery site.
• The role includes cleaning the guest bedrooms and communal areas in our Retreat Centre.
• Cleaning our offices and dining area supporting our catering team.
• Supporting the cleaning of the Monastery and accommodation for the resident monastic community.
• Working with our maintenance team to report any problems so we can get these resolved as soon as possible.
• Ensuring the cleaning equipment is suitable for use for the housekeeping team.
• Managing any agency contract we have to support our housekeeping team at busy times.
• Working as part of the management team on site to promote a safe, healthy, and secure environment where everyone feels they can belong.
• Co-ordinate communications between the different departments to ensure everything is dealt with in a timely manner.

What we are looking for:

• Minimum of 1-year supervisory experience would be ideal. We will also support with a full training plan.
• Natural hospitality charm and the ability to build great rapport with your team.
• You will have high standards & genuinely want to make  Ampleforth Abbey a place people want to visit with great attention to detail.
• Own transport required – located Ampleforth

We are a charitable organisation and currently embarking on an exciting project to renovate our Visitor Centre, Shop & Tearoom. The Abbey Church continues to be open for our visitors and our orchard is one of the largest commercial orchards in the North of England.
