Full Online Retreat: Tai Chi & Christian Meditation 12th - 14th February

Ampleforth Abbey

Friday 12th – Sunday 14th February

Tai Chi & Christian Meditation

with Terry Doyle and Fr Christopher Gorst OSB

Tai Chi has been described as 'meditation in movement'. Christian Meditation involves stillness. During this retreat we balance these paradoxical practices to help focus our body and mind on being open to God. Under Terry Doyle, a practitioner of Tai Chi and an Oblate of the World Community for Christian Meditation (WCCM) we will be guided in our learning and develop these means, by which we relax and become aware of God's presence.

No previous experience is required, but those who have been before are most welcome to renew their practice and re-connect.

This retreat begins at 5pm Friday and ends at 1pm Sunday

If you are interested you are invited to either contact Yvonne, our bookings secretary, by telephone at 01439 766486 on Tuesday and Friday mornings between 9am and 1pm, or by email at pastoral@ampleforth.org.uk.

There will be a suggested donation for each retreat that reflects the cost to us to make the retreat available.

The retreats will be brought to you via Zoom and, in good time before the retreat is due to start, you will be sent a Zoom invitation along with instructions. We continue to offer our usual Home Retreats each Saturday at 11am. Details of this and of our Home Prayer and live streaming can be found on our Together in Prayer page.
