Tea Room

The Tea Room is open daily 10.00-17.00 selling delicious homemade food and drink including Ampleforth Abbey apple juice and cider, produced from our own orchard. The beautiful oak-panelled Tea Room is furnished with Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson furniture and enjoys lovely views across the valley. 

Breakfast Rolls

Is there a better way to start your day? A delicious bacon or sausage roll and hot drink in beautiful surroundings.

Lovely Cakes

We have a great selection of cakes, homemade scones and bakes daily. Why not treat yourself to afternoon tea? We have something to suit all tastes. 

Lunch

A selection of sandwiches and fresh warm food, including options for dietary requirements. Please ask when ordering.

Children

We welcome children in the Tea Room, and have high chairs and a children's menu available for our younger visitors. We have plenty of space for buggy parking, and baby changing facilities.

Last orders for hot food is 16.00 and for cake and drinks 16.30.  

We do not take table reservations for groups of less than ten people, we offer a first come first serve basis. To book a table for groups of ten or more, please email tearoom@ampleforthabbey.org.uk 

Dogs are not allowed in the Visitors Centre (except for assistance dogs), but owners are welcome to enjoy the grounds and have refreshments at our outside seating area. Please order at the takeaway hatch in the Gift Shop.

To find the Tea Room, when you arrive at Ampleforth Abbey follow the signs to Visitor Parking which will take you to Alban Roe House Visitor Centre. The Tea Room is located in Alban Roe House along with the Abbey Shop.
