Ampleforth Abbey Visitor Centre

Ampleforth Abbey Visitor Centre

The Visitor Centre is currently closed but the grounds and tea room remain open.

The Visitor Centre is located in the east end of Alban Roe House and is fully accessible. It is run by Fr Kentigern Hagan OSB and a wonderful team of volunteers who have a vast amount of knowledge about Ampleforth.

The Centre tells the day-to-day life of the monastic community and the vows they take, the history of Ampleforth Abbey and College and the orchard and cider production, as well as a video compiled by the Community.  Children can enjoy completing the "Mouse Hunt" and arranging the clues to obtain the password to the Abbey!
