All Prep School pupils take part in cross country running. Cross Country running is a good form of aerobic exercise and benefits children as a fun and sometimes muddy way of increasing general fitness.
We are lucky to have a number of cross country tracks around our extensive grounds involving woodland trials and different gradients. There is also an evening activity involving cross country running which even takes place in the dark with the benefit of head torches.
St Martin's Ampleforth hosts its own annual cross country meet and takes part in a number of other school events across the North East of England.
