The children in Year 6 took advantage of proximity to two fantastic local castles and spent a day exploring Pickering and Helmsley in support of their medieval history work. They identified defensive features that could still be seen, and considered the site of each castle in relation to its settlement. The children also used their iPads to take some striking creative photographs of the sites. We finished eating Ryeburn ice creams (in some cases very large ones!) in Helmsley.
