Four of the staff from Fairfax House in York visited the castle today.

The Year 7 children are going to have a day at Fairfax House as part of the Kids In Museums Take Over Day initiative and the staff today came out to talk to the children about what they are going to be doing in the Museum.  They also talked about life as a Georgian and demonstrated the type of clothes a Georgian lady would wear.   To see a short video of the demonstration please go to our Facebook page.   Fairfax House in York is the town house of Charles Gregory Fairfax who lived with his family in Gilling Castle in the mid 1700's.
