In collaboration with the North Yorkshire Music Service, the College administers a project to encourage singing in primary schools.

Following visits to the schools by our Music Staff, the school children come to Ampleforth to form one large choir to sing the music they have learnt. There are three combined events each year involving about 400 children between the ages of eight and 11. To date 36 local schools have been involved in the project.

The combined choirs of St Martin's Ampleforth occasionally sing at Mass on Sunday in local catholic churches and have recently visited, St Roberts RC Church in Harrogate, St Joseph & St Francis Xavier RC Church in Richmond and St Oswald's in Oswaldkirk.  The choirs have also been invited to sing at St Monica's Hospital in Easingwold and at the NSPCC Christmas Fair that is held annually at Castle Howard.
