Life at Ampleforth is as busy at weekends as it is during the week, with clubs, activities and sporting fixtures offering a wealth of opportunities for students to discover their talents and pursue their interests.

In keeping with our core value of Equilibrium, we also recognise the importance of rest and relaxation.  We run a programme of off-site trips throughout the term which take place on selected Sundays.  Some give students the chance to try something new, others simply offer the opportunity to have fun whilst socialising with peers from other Houses. The trips are not exclusive to boarders; many of our day students choose to go along as well to spend more time with their friends.

Past visits have included a trip to Xscape activity centre at Castleford, a day out shopping in York and a tour of Newcastle United Football Club.  One of the most popular trips of the year is to the local theme park, Flamingo Land.

As well as helping students to bond socially these days out provide a fun and informal setting in which they can relax and unwind.
