On the evening of Friday 7th June, some of our Year 12 students were lucky enough to attend a specially organised 'Finance Map' class here at the college.

The class was delivered by Matthew Craston, who has over 30 years of experience with Chase Manhattan, SBC Warburg, UBS and ECM Asset Management, but who, having enjoyed working in finance for three decades, now prefers to give professionals the knowledge to perform more effectively in their existing jobs, and to give students what they need to successfully launch their own careers.  His unique Finance Map class is designed to explain the world of finance to students and others seeking internships or jobs within financial firms. Our students certainly left with a much clearer grasp of how the sector works and in which roles within it they would be best suited to.

This was the best talk of the year - really interesting!  Philipp

It was fascinating and I now have a much better idea of which part of the financial industry I want to go into; ideally, this would be working in M&A.  Charlie

Many thanks to Matthew Craston for taking the time to share his invaluable experience and knowledge with our students and for instilling within them such enthusiasm for the world of finance.
