Last week, we welcomed Claire Bridel, mother to one OA and two current students, and CEO of a small private bank, to give a Careers Lecture to Year 12. Claire spoke about her exciting career journey from the age of 18 in the world of Finance and Banking and what working in the sector involves. She outlined the intellectual challenge such a career can bring as well as the opportunity to be innovative and inventive. Throughout it all however, her desire to have a family was never compromised and she demonstrated how finding equilibrium in the midst of a demanding career can be achieved. She ended her lecture by encouraging the students to seek careers which give them autonomy and purpose, both of which can lead to career satisfaction.
