Ampleforth Launches new Equestrian Arena.

Following on from Issy Saxby's fantastic achievement of being selected for the British Eventing Under 18 Development Squad, we are excited to announce an extension of our current equestrian and country pursuits opportunities with a six figure investment in a new equestrian arena.

The new 60m x 40m Arena, with a waxed sand/fibre surface is set to open in the autumn term, subject to planning approvals.

The new facility, which will include Dressage and Show Jump facilities, will enhance the opportunities for day pupils to train and prepare at the College for the National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) events.  Currently, the College have riders representing them in Eventing, Show Jumping, Dressage and Jumping with Style Competitions.  Training with specialists will be arranged for the students, providing them with every opportunity to succeed in their chosen discipline.

Eliz Cook, Head of Equestrian at Ampleforth says: “Ampleforth has a magnificent setting.  Whether someone has never ridden a horse before or is seeking to compete seriously, this new facility demonstrates our commitment to developing the confidence and competency of those who want to get outdoors and enjoy the best possible views of our beautiful valley from horseback.”
