Billy joined Ampleforth College in 2012 having completed and MPhys (hons) degree at the University of York specialising in Nuclear Physics and Quantum Mechanics. Billy is a Year 10 tutor in St. Thomas' House and also runs the Year 10 CCF Course.

    Physics Technician

    Graham is the Physics Technician and has been in his current position since 2001.  His degree is in Materials Engineering.

  • Dr Oliver Beveridge
    BSc (Edinburgh), PhD (Sheffield)
    Physics Teacher

    Oliver studied Ecological Science at Edinburgh University followed by a PhD in Bio-Physics at The University of Sheffield and a PostDoc at Durham University.  Oliver has been involved in an array of research projects from micro freshwater Biology to predicting and mapping the future distributions of avifauna across southern Africa.  Oliver’s main interests are freshwater Biology and applied statistics.  Oliver is a Sixth Form Tutor in St Cuthbert’s House and teaches Physics and Biology.

    MPhys (Liverpool), PGCE, MBA (Open), MInstP
    Physics Teacher

    John is our Deputy Head Academic and teaches physics from Year 9 to Sixth-form. His favourite topics to teach are Electricity and Particle Physics. His physics hero is Ernest Rutherford, the man who split the atom. John’s connection to Ampleforth extends back to 2008.
