Few schools have a large, living monastery for a neighbour. But the monks at Ampleforth are more than just our neighbours. We share a purpose, which is to follow the Rule of St Benedict. The monks teach our children and care for their spiritual wellbeing. We want our children to think hard about their faith so that it grows while they are here, whether they’re Catholic or not. We want them to understand that you discover the best of yourself through serving and helping others, as St Benedict taught. The religious aspect of life at Ampleforth is hugely valued by parents and children alike. Prayer is a fundamental part of the school day. It helps us build a community and it binds us together.
