January Home Retreats Programme

'The Gate of the Year' by Fr Kevin
Saturday 1st January 11am

As we step into a New Year we are invited to put our hand into that of Another, to allow a power greater than ourselves to be at work in our lives, to let ourselves be led to places we could never have reached on our own. It is a momentous decision to walk with this Other, to really share our life – one we discover brings immense blessings.

'Christ in his mysteries' by Fr Cedd
Saturday 8th January 11am

In this intriguing Home Retreat, Fr Cedd discusses the importance of meditating on the life of Christ as we seek to grow in our Christian discipleship.

'Rebirth in Christ' by Fr Henry
Saturday 15th January 11am

This poignant reflection from Fr Henry will centre on St Paul’s great Letter to the Romans and its teaching on salvation in Christ.

'Joy' by Fr Richard
Saturday 22nd January 11am

Join us for this Home Retreat led by Fr Richard ffield OSB, as he explores why joy is such an important gift of the Holy Spirit.

'St Alban Roe: A Reflection on his Life and Martyrdom'
Saturday 29th January 11am

This retreat talk will look at Ampleforth’s one canonized saint to date, one of the many martyrs of the Reformation era, whose feast is on 31 January. The aim will be to draw themes from his story to inspire our own Christian lives and our prayer.

Each Home Retreat consists of a 10-15 minute reflection, and concludes with a series of suggestions for activities and further reflection throughout the day.
