This home retreat will focus in particular on an extract from the first reading at monastic Matins for the feast, a passage from the Second Letter of St Paul to the Corinthians, chapter 3 verses 17 to 18.

'St Bernard of Clairvaux: man of experience' by Fr Cedd

Saturday 20th August

St Bernard of Clairvaux was one if the most influential people in the Europe of the Middle Ages, and arguably one of the most influential monks of all time, especially in the Latin Church. In this talk, Fr Cedd will introduce some of the distinctive elements of Bernard’s spirituality, particular the role of experience in the spiritual life.
