About St Edward & St Wilfrid

The House celebrates two patrons. St Edward (died 1066) was king of England and a man of great piety. He was a generous benefactor to Westminster Abbey from where the Ampleforth Community originates. St Wilfrid (died 709) was a monk of Ripon and Archbishop of York noted for his apostolic zeal, courage and loyalty.
