BICENTENARY EVENTS 2002

AMPLEFORTH 31 May - 28 September, the Bicentenary Arts Festival. This is the first ever event of its kind to be held at Ampleforth. A gallery of artwork by renowned Old Amplefordian artists will be exhibited. It will contain traditional and contemporary pieces, paintings and sculpture. The pieces will help to cement the links that bind members of the wider Ampleforth Community with the school and monastery and will be on exhibition for several months. After this time, they will become part of Ampleforth own art collection. Some of the works, however, will be reproduced for sale.

4.45pm - Films of 20th century Ampleforth
6.30pm - Vespers
7.00pm - Reception
8.15pm - Dinner
Sunday 22 September
10.00am - Pontifical Mass of Thanksgiving
1.00pm - Lunch
