What of Life before Graduating?
Before University I undertook a Year In Industry Scheme placement

(http://www.yini.org.uk) at the headquarters of Esso UK, in Surrey.

My university degree was undertaken at Imperial College, in London, reading
for MEng Computing. During my university studies I undertook 3 months
placement with I.E.E., a specialised electronics firm, in Luxembourg,
and 6 months working for IBM, at Hursley in Hampshire. This last work
involved a customer Proof of Concept project, giving me excellent
insight into project management and corporate infrastructure. It also
enticed me to return as a graduate hire in September 2002. Since joining
I have found myself working on ever-more interesting projects…

Working for Big Blue
I have been involved in Software Regression Testing, Software
Development and Software Servicing - thus been exposed to complete
Software Lifecycle. Current role is to design and implement EU Grid
Provenance Project

(http://www.gridprovenance.org), collaborating with
partners spread across the EU. The project will provide an open-source
resource to facilitate growth in Grid and Web Services. The technology
will provide a mechanism to “trace the process that led to the data”.
More simply: to query how the data was created in a Grid environment.

Time for Other Activities?
Twice organised annual conference for corporate strategy, with
responsibility for $1/4M budget and logistics. I mentor students in UK
and USA, with age range from high school to PhD level. In this capacity
I provide input on careers, project skills and have even helped with a
winning business plan for a university entrepreneurship competition. In
the local community I volunteer my medical skills to support St John
Ambulance (http://www.sja.org.uk). I am keen to foster stronger links
between academia and
industry, this I principally achieve through IBM but also by acting as
representative for "The Year in Industry Scheme". In this role I have
presented the scheme at local schools and to Head Master groups. Through
this I joined the Royal Academy of Engineering "BEST" Program. In autumn
2005 I was granted Chartered IT Professional (CITP) by the British
Computer Society. Within 2 years I shall be seeking European Engineering
(Eur.Ing.) and desire to undertake an MBA.  [posted 9 October 2005]
